On Sunday, September 9 we started exploring the kings and prophets of the Old Testament. Beginning in the new year, we are going on a 'Treasure Quest' through the life of Jesus. After Easter, get on board to cruise through Paul's journeys. Parents - don't forget to check out our family days and join us quarterly while we share what we have been learning!

Stop at the Registration Station, pick up your name tag and get ready for the ride of your life! Our Schedule for the morning is as follows:

10:15-10:30
Register kids -
basement of Education Building
10:30 - 10:50 am

3 year olds through 5th grade will join together in a combined opening in the lower level of the Education Building (B06-B08), now remodeled and known as the Jungle Room. Students will celebrate God’s love and learn to with exciting songs, puppets and drama, led by older youth volunteers!

10:50 - 11:50 am

      (pre-school - sr. high students)
Pre-school through 5th grades break into groups by age and grade level to dig into the Bible and learn about people just like ourselves that decided to Hear, See and Live out their belief in God. It's exciting and new, and you won't want to miss it! Small Group locations and team leaders are listed at the end of this page.

Junior and Senior High Students (6th-12th grades) also gather for small group time. The Jr. High students have their own personalized lounge in the basement and Sr. High students meet in the Youth house, which is located next to the church.

These two small groups meet throughout the school year. They typically study 4-10 week series on a large range of topics from making Godly life choices to inductive walk-throughs of specific books of the Bible. Our hope is to help students look at the world, their life, daily choices, and goals through the eyes of Jesus Christ.

11:50
Be sure and pick up your child from the Jungle Room!

SUNDAYS ARE NOT ENOUGH!
Our hope this year is that we raise up strong families with strong faith. Family devotions and Bible story books will be available each week that correspond to what kids are learning in their small groups. Please feel free to take them home and learn together. Check out the newsletter page for the current stories we are learning!

FAMILY DAY - WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

We are continuing with our Family Days this year! You will get to hear what your kids have learned, see some of their projects, participate in fun family activities, and celebrate what God is doing in the hearts of this upcoming generation. We want YOU - parents, guardians, and families of kids to attend Jungle Jam and Small Group Time WITH your kids on the following Sundays:

  • November 11 - We learned about Stewardship: tithing, giving back to God and sharing what we have with others!
  • January 21 - We went to Hilltop to spread JOY (Jesus first, yourself last and others in the middle!)
  • March 24 - We walked through Holy week - from Palm Sunday to the glorious Resurrection..

This year we also learned how to walk the Roman's Road. Below is a refresher if you would like to go over it with your children:

The "Romans Road" is simply a way to remember the Gospel. It starts with our "issue" and ends with God's great "result." Try to memorize these verses so as you share your story with those around you, you can incorporate these life changing truths!

       WHY WE NEED SALVATION
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God."
Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned."
Romans 6:23a, "For the wages of sin is death;

       HOW GOD PROVIDED SALVATION
Romans 6:23b, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

       HOW WE CAN RECEIVE SALVATION
Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:13 "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

       RESULTS OF SALVATION
Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 8:1 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:38 - 39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Sunday Classes For Adults

  • "Scriptures for Today" meets during the "9:09" service. The class focuses on the study and application of the four Scripture passages chosen for the lectionary each Sunday. It is currently on 'hiatus' till March 30 while the instructor is away.

  • If you have only recently begun to attend First Pres. and/or are new to the Christian faith, you are invited to attend a casual venue get-together during the 10:45 service. This is a great place to get to know others and to find out more about FPC while talking about life and faith. The group will meet in the lowest level of the Education Building across from the Jungle Room.
