The
Overview
FPC
yOuthouse Ministries exists
as an active element of First
Presbyterian Church to energize,
equip, and empower students and
their families to live for Christ,
reflecting the core values stated
below.
Our Core
Values – The success
of the ministry will be measured
by how our core values are reflected
in the students and families God
has called us to minister to.
We believe God has created/called
us to glorify Himself through a
lifestyle of worship (Ephesians
3, Romans 12:1). As a ministry,
we desire to encourage a lifestyle
of worship by instilling value
in the following areas:
- Community – God
has created/called us to live
in Christ-centered relationships with
each other. We will provide
opportunity for students to connect
and build
each other up in Christ. (1
Corinthians 1:10, Philippians
4:2, 1 Peter
4:9)
-
Discovery – God
has created/called us to KNOW
Him. We will passionately
endeavor to help students develop
in their faith by giving them
opportunities to learn more
about who they are
in relationship to the God
who created them. (Matthew 28:18-20,
Acts 2:42, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Service – God
has created/called us to live
sacrificially with our time,
giftedness, and resources. We
will seek to help students become
good stewards of what God has
given them. (Galatians 5:13-14,
Mark 10:43-45, 1 John 3:16-19)
The Strategy
Relational
Ministry - Following
the example of Christ, this ministry
will focus on the process of discipleship.
We believe that Jesus discipled
His followers relationally. Likewise,
we want to be characterized by
our relational style of ministry.
