Youth Department Mission

Dear Friend,

Welcome to FPC where we are seekng to find purpose in Christ. I am glad that you have taken interest in our youth ministry. We believe that God desires students to be a vital component in His church. Students are not the hope for the Church of tomorrow but are truly the Church of today!

God has and will continue to use young people to build up His Kingdom. That is why it is essential to get plugged in!

The following information will give you insight to our purpose and also an overview of the opportunities offered for both Jr. and Sr. High Students to get plugged in.

God Bless.
His Servant,

Jeremy Finn
Associate to the Pastor in Youth Ministries

The Overview

FPC yOuthouse Ministries exists as an active element of First Presbyterian Church to energize, equip, and empower students and their families to live for Christ, reflecting the core values stated below.

Our Core Values – The success of the ministry will be measured by how our core values are reflected in the students and families God has called us to minister to.

We believe God has created/called us to glorify Himself through a lifestyle of worship (Ephesians 3, Romans 12:1). As a ministry, we desire to encourage a lifestyle of worship by instilling value in the following areas:

  • Community – God has created/called us to live in Christ-centered relationships with each other. We will provide opportunity for students to connect and build each other up in Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:10, Philippians 4:2, 1 Peter 4:9)
  • Discovery – God has created/called us to KNOW Him. We will passionately endeavor to help students develop in their faith by giving them opportunities to learn more about who they are in relationship to the God who created them. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Service – God has created/called us to live sacrificially with our time, giftedness, and resources. We will seek to help students become good stewards of what God has given them. (Galatians 5:13-14, Mark 10:43-45, 1 John 3:16-19)

The Strategy

Relational Ministry - Following the example of Christ, this ministry will focus on the process of discipleship. We believe that Jesus discipled His followers relationally. Likewise, we want to be characterized by our relational style of ministry.

The Plan

Our Connecting Points - yOuthouse Ministries has multiple connecting points providing an array focused, relevant, and relational growth opportunities.

  • Sunday School - Sundays 10:45-11:45am at the yOuthouse
  • Life Groups - Multiple small groups
  • Retreats - Annual Winter Weekend in March
  • Work Camps - Annual during the summer

Parenting Partnership - God has called parents to be the primary teachers of spiritual instruction (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 6:4). Therefore we will do everything we can to love, energize, equip, and empower parents to be the primary teachers of spiritual instruction.

  • Parent Meetings (At Least Quarterly)
  • Parenting Workshops (At least one series per year)
